"Imma lookin’ for the next big thing, I'm living my dream kickstarted. Ain't never gonna miss a beat, ain't gonna be broken-hearted. Gonna leave my fear behind, already made up my mind... And I'm not gonna waste my time... no, I’m not gonna waste my time" - Family Force 5, This Is My Year Today, make the stand......create your destiny.......stand firm.....and NEVER forget who you are. NEVER forget who God created you to be: Bold, Strong,Powerful, Beautiful (Handsome), and Intuitive. You know WHO YOU ARE.....NEVER let man tell you who you SHOULD be. The poem "Starting With Me" By Rosalie June Slater states, "God made me special- Like no one else you see..." Keep that in mind. Personally, God uses music to talk with me and concerning this topic, Britt Nicole's Ready Or Not ft. Lecrae, Derek Minor's Who You Know, and Family Force 5's This Is My Year (Maotma Remix). I want to first look at Ready Or Not feat. Lecrae. Simply boiled down, this song simply says, "DON'T BE A 'FOLLOWER' OF PEOPLE! NEVER CONFORM TO THE STANDARDS OF OTHERS! ALWAYS BE YOU!" I've seen in my life people 'kiss up' to others to seek favor. Being honest, I have done it before (Remember! Alyssa and I are NOT 'perfect little angels'.)Just don't follow down that path; it's the LAST one you want to go down. Second, Derek Minor's Who You Know. " I hear a whole lot of talking. (Shhh!) Sit back and listen: Why you make so many assumptions?!? (so many assumptions)..." Simply, the song is saying that 'there is no need to want to be like everyone else. No Need. You know who you are.' Remember the poem "God made ME special..." Lastly, This Is My Year by Family Force 5. This song screams out "NOW IS THE TIME TO TAKE YOUR LIFE AND MAKE IT POWERFUL!!! THIS IS YOUR YEAR!!!" So I ask you, who are you? Not your name and where you live, but do you know who you were MADE TO BE? In closing, I want you to remember that God has special things planned for your life......will you take it.......or leave it.......it's up to you... Blessings, Spencer
